The evidence was offered late, the killer was convicted and sentenced, and he remained in jail for 16 years. Sometimes, a judge has to do whatever they can do to protect the innocent. Does fairness and morality have a place in the legal system? Deskovic is now a law student and hopes to eventually help others avoid his plight. Either way, from what I understand, the judge wasn't Sotomayor. Secondly, the reporter in the video says that the appeal Sotomayor ruled on could have shaved 6 years off his sentence, so he had already been in jail 10 years, was not a boy, and had lawyers representing him that should have been aware of basic filing procedure.
