The World’s Gone Mad

In Barack Obama, Politics on June 4, 2009 at 3:46 am

03saudi6-600*UPDATE: Here’s the transcript of Baracus Hubris Maximus (Hail Caesar!)’s
A New Beginning, ” speech to the Muslim world, for those, like me, who just can’t bear to watch him read it to us.

As I write this, an American Pretendident, Barack Hussein Obama, is in the Middle East about to tell people who hate his country, but love them some him, that he’s not a Muslim, but he feels their pain, from personal experience, while his Jewish Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, stands at his side embodying everything they hate about his country.  Seems he wants to kiss and make up for all the bad stuff George Bush has single-handedly been doing in the region since, oh, I dunno, the Iranian hostage crisis.  I think he’s also planning to try to make the Muslim world, or at least, the Arab part of it, understand that even though he’s gonna keep bombing the shit out of some of them, he really, really wants to be their friend.  That’s because he’s from Chicago, and there are a lot of Muslims there, in fact, there are so many Muslims in this country period, that you could call us one big ol’ Muslim country.

In other news of the truly bizarre, Republicans are backing off their opposition to the Spokesmodel-in-Chief’s Supreme Court appointee, Sonia Sotomayor because, even though she was a stupid, racist, bully, dyke, yesterday, today, Rush Limb-awe agrees with That One that she is their wet dreams come true, a stealth conservative who might overturn Roe v. Wade. And, the Gingrich who stole Christmas now says, “Psych! Just foolin’!  You’re not racist, and, did I mention I love Liz Torres?”

The Celebritician with a name worthy of Batman adversary status, The Waffler, is now okay with accepting his presidential opponent, John McCain’s health care tax proposal, the one that he mockingly campaigned against, which doesn’t really matter because “polls show” most Americans don’t really want health care reform right now, any more than they want Affirmative Action, or support choice.

And, sadly, blues legend Koko Taylor has died.  She was 80 years old.  May she rest in peace, and have an eternal Wang Dangle Doodle, too.

We’ll diss the speech together later on today, okay?

  1. KoKo Taylor came to my college and performed in a little dive bar about 12 years ago! That 70 year old rowdy down to earth martini sipping woman single-handedly turned the whole campus upside down…god rest her beutiful soul! Thanks Cinie!

    • You’re welcome Ario. Good to see you here. I’m from Chicago, so blues is in my soul. 8)

The Pointer Sisters did a great Wang Dang Doodle, too. But then, everybody and their mother covered it.

  2. I honestly don’t want to read his speech because I just know I am going to see things that all the happy asses skipped over.

  3. As a boy, I spent several years in Indonesia and heard the call of the azaan at the break of dawn and the fall of dusk. As a young man, I worked in Chicago communities where many found dignity and peace in their Muslim faith “obama” now the MSM is celebrating this .

    then
KROFT: You don’t believe that Senator Obama is a Muslim?

CLINTON: Of course not. I mean, that’s — you know, there is no basis for that. You know, I take him on the basis of what he says. And, you know, there isn’t any reason to doubt that.

KROFT: And you said you’d take Senator Obama at his word that he’s not a Muslim.

    CLINTON: Right. Right.

    KROFT: You don’t believe that he’s a Muslim –

CLINTON: No. No. Why would I? There’s no –

    KROFT: — or implying, right?

CLINTON: No, there is nothing to base that on, as far as I know.

    KROFT: It’s just scurrilous –

CLINTON: Look, I have been the target of so many ridiculous rumors. I have a great deal of sympathy for anybody who gets, you know, smeared with the kind of rumors that go on all the time.

    j

    • rember they said hillary was a racist when she said as far” as I know.”

now its all good to they come off as how cool it is that was a Muslim . & great that it is that he has that backround

  4. on the thing that pisses me of is how the MSM is celebrating his Muslim roots
the same people that are saying that now where condemning people for just thinking that he might have been Muslim.

  5. Hey, thought you might want to read and respond to this:

    http://www.boomantribune.com/story/2009/6/2/233425/5770

  6. Pips, seriously? He was so self involved that he compared his accommodations to Prince Charles? That is one mighty fine case of I don’t know what.

Cinie, read his speech (can’t bear to listen to him) and found it curiously juvenile. I may be prejudiced, but I listened to MLK’s many speeches, JFK’s speeches, and I have tapes of FDR’s speeches – even Nixon presented in a more statesmanlike manner, and I won’t even mention Clinton in the same venue (far superior, both of them).
RE his comments on women’s rights, screw the sumbeotych. He was facile, his comparisons were ridiculous, and he (perhaps unintentionally) gave tacit approval for those atrocities against women (stoning, acid burning, genital mutilation etc) to continue, because, after all is said and done, the U.S. had fought internally through the law to allow women to wear the hijab, which appears to be the greatest problem that women have?
Apologies, I’m a little discomposed….what a bleeping narcissist no/do nothing. I’ll get over it…a little knitting while I’m sipping on bitter lemon juice should do it.

  7. Haven’t read the speech yet … but I better. Would love to participate in the dissing, lol!

Meanwhile here are some quotes from a story in the UK Telegraph about the necklace Obama receives in the picture at the top:

Then, as an aide approached him with the necklace, Obama exclaimed: “Goodness gracious. That’s something there.”

… and being shown his sleeping accomodations:

Looking up, Obama joked: “This is a much nicer tent than you gave to Prince Charles.”

Ever so eloquent. And Presidential!

  8. awesome post Cinie. It truly is madness. agree with Laree too. The cognitive dissonance is not only giving me a headache, it’s also DANGEROUS.

  9. Mad World?

    Oh please Cinie, may I?

    This is sooo beautiful!

  10. Cinie,

My Favorite Part: I think he’s also planning to try to make the Muslim world, or at least, the Arab part of it, understand that even though he’s gonna keep bombing the shit out of some of them, he really, really wants to be their friend.
    ******************
Remember Afghanistan when we were bombing them intermittently with food MREs and Bombs, and we had to change the color of the MREs package so the Afghans wouldn’t pick up the bombs by mistake?

    Good times – Good times/sarc

My husband was in logistics, you know they have a name for what went on during the Afghan bombing, in the Army “It involves a Goat and Sexual Intercourse”

I was commenting during the bombing campaign, I could imagine two Afghans conversing: Afghan 1. whatever you do, don’t make the Americans angry, they will start bombing again. Afghan 2. this is true but you know it’s almost dinner time, and I am getting hungry.

Chaos Much? What was the message, we were sending the Afghans? We want to help but first we have to bomb the shit out of you…oh and don’t pick up the yellow packets – pick up the blue packets. Try the one marked spaghetti, you will really enjoy it, and the crackers are great with humus.

  11. The fact is Obama was abandoned by his muslim root, now wasnt he.
Why else would his mother have to be on food stamps briefly.
The fact is Obama’s mother was having a ball in college and pretty much ended up pregnant like Sarah Palin’s daughter because i truly dont believe they were ever married. But, hell we cant get a clear story on most of it can we?
It seems to me while I would love to see total peace across all lands, it’s naive thinking, because if we could stop hate wouldnt we?
I think my main concern is that even with his brief comments on women being free to get an education, he didnt addresst he fact they are still stoned to death in public for various offenses and i truly think that is the most brutal torture of them all

    • Amen! And if you’re a real Christian aren’t you supposed to believe that only the Christ can bring such peace? Regarding the brutality of stoning — especially when they bury them women up to their faces for the stoning, leaving only their head for a target. Isn’t there going to be a movie out about that … I can’t remember the title right now. No coffee yet today.

Cinie, I can’t stand it!!!! As you so richly say, Obama thinks that only he can heal the Muslim world because of his Muslim roots. Super dangerous thinking.

For anyone who is looking for an alternative to the great speech — TCM will be showing Ingmar Bergman films!

  12. Shocking! just shocking! You are all too cynical!

the world is having it’s kumbayah moment after all! Let’s all sing!

Up is down! Down is up! Click those heels together three times and watch Alice fall thru the Looking Glass … and we are at the Mad Hatter’s Teaparty!

He’s even on a promo for Conan O’Brien (however you spell his name!)

And I thought I “hated” Bush and what he did/didn’t do … this reign just makes me want to vomit!

  13. im gerting sick of this whole Muslim, world thing the Muslim, its seems like everytime you turn on the news our MSM is in a lovefest with the Muslim, world & keep telling us how good it is that the ONE has Muslim, roots .

    • Me too, Boogie. Has anybody seen a poll asking how many Americans are in a hurry to embrace Obama’s Muslim roots?
