While conspiracy theorists and other befuddled Americans are searching for hidden agendas to justify, or at least, explain, the media-driven election of an inexperienced junior Senator who can’t form complete sentences without the use of a TelePrompTer, they’re missing the all-too obvious agenda staring them dead in the face. Whoever funded and formulated Barack Obama’s meteoric rise from obscurity to omnipresence is bound and determined to totally revamp the country’s policies, programs, and policy-making procedures, as we’ve known them. This is not cosmetic surgery we’re talking here; a little nip here, a tuck there. This is fundamental, foundational, systemic change, according to their dictates. If you’re not on board with every element of the sweeping “change” they have in mind, well, that’s just too damned bad.
The Press-ident and his backers want the economy to fail. That’s the only way his policies to this point make any sense at all. He has said he wants the population angry, outraged, even, so that he can push his agenda through under his budget umbrella. The economic system we live under must collapse, so that a new one can be put in place. With it, healthcare, education, housing, energy and other core elements of out national foundation will experience profound systemic “change.”
The fact that the current public obsession with government owned AIG and it’s silly bonuses, (representing a pittance of the massive amount of taxpayer money funneled into it and laundered out the back door) is a smokescreen so obvious as to make the metaphorical 800 lb. gorilla look like a child’s stuffed monkey toy, designed to allow the Obministration to cripple the financial system, is itself deliberately obscured by the media manipulation of the Press-ident’s Prestidigitation Crew. Whereas the public should be screaming in outrage about the dismantling of our economy, we’re obsessing over a few million out of hundreds, soon-to-be thousands, of billions disappearing into thin air, with no freaking accounting. The Obministration is so deft in its handling of public information that our righteous indignation has been channeled, and so successfully misdirected, that we are willing to champion unconstitutional methods of redress. Punitive taxation, of the sort passed by the House against AIG, is wrong on its face, to use Congress to direct it at employees of a government owned company is shamefully wicked. And shock, nay outrage, at the fact that broke companies just might owe back taxes, and other companies paid retention bonuses too, are the same kinds of diversionary exercises in putting the merely important before the absolutely critical.
Let’s face it, when it comes to the AIG retention bonuses, whining and finger pointing about who told who to put what where, when the entire sequence of events was documented in the press at the time, has a purpose other than to “get to the bottom of things.” Of course Chris Dodd put the Feb. 11 restriction into his stimulus bill amendment, Politico reported that he did in their Feb. 14 article touting his “stricter than the Press-ident and his Boy Wonder’s” language:
President Obama recently strutted out new rules restricting “shameful” executive compensation packages at corporations receiving government funds, and followed up with populist tough-talk aimed at “a culture of narrow self-interest” on Wall Street.
Then Congress one-upped him.
Now Obama’s signature $787 billion economic stimulus bill includes restrictions to executive compensation that go much further than the ones he made a show of announcing just ten days ago—and that ended up in the final bill over his administration’s strong objections.
edit
Additionally, the rules in the stimulus bill apply not only to companies that receive bailout funds in the future, but also to those that have received TARP money in the past – although executive bonuses doled out in contracts signed before February 11 would not be impacted.
Let me repeat, the Obministration wants AIG and Wall Street to fail. On their terms. Once AIG has served its purpose of depleting the nation’s coffers, and redistributing our wealth to those what brung the Spokesmodel-in-Chief to the dance, the whole Ponzi house of cars will fall by design, with domino-like precision. The government and the Federal Reserve will be the only remaining repositories of our nation’s remaining, and future, wealth, to be then distributed as the government and the Federal Reserve see fit. The madder you get at the wrong people, the easier it will be for the Obacrats to accomplish.
Again, this is not a secret. If the Obacracy wanted to fix the economy in the traditional way, they would have made sure the Treasury Department was staffed, post haste. In fact, Obama would not have nominated his mom’s boss’ kid, Turbo Tax Timmy Geithner, tax cheat, (TTTG, tc) the guy who orchestrated the whole Lehman Brothers collapse/AIG purchase, and subsequent TARP, to be in charge of the IRS and the nation’s economy, in the first place. As head of the New York Fed, it was Geithner who convened the September 13 meeting that decided Lehman Brothers and AIG’s fate, the meeting Lehman reps were not invited to:
An official from the Federal Reserve Bank of New York said participants include Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, Timothy Geithner, president of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, and Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Christopher Cox. The New York Fed official asked not to be named due to the sensitivity of the talks.
Participants in today’s discussions at the offices of the New York Fed also include executives from Goldman Sachs, JPMorgan Chase, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup and Merrill Lynch. Representatives for Lehman Brothers were not present during the discussions.
They were meeting on the heels of an emergency session convened Friday night by Geithner — the Fed’s point person on financial crises.
Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke is actively engaged in the deliberations but wasn’t in attendance.
Geithner convened the meeting Friday evening, and told bankers gathered at the New York Fed’s imposing building in downtown Manhattan to come up with a solution or risk being the next to go under, said investment banking officials with direct knowledge of the talks.
No shy, retiring, passive participant, he, our Timmy. I get tired of pointing out just how involved Geithner’s been in everything, including the strenuous, unwavering, opposition to the executive bonus and salary cap restrictions, all along. For anyone to act surprised now that he’s admitted he told Dodd to put the out clause in the stimulus bill, strains credulity way past the laugh test fail point.
Obama’s agenda will pass, barring a miracle, because, as we’ve seen, he and his Obacolytes are willing to use every trick in the book, push every envelope past its breaking point, and bend any and every rule extant to their will. Think of it as “bamboozling by any means necessary for what we say is the good of the people.” Case in point – GIVE – Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education, the House bill expanding AmeriCorps, called the Serve America Act in the Senate . You can call me rightwing, or any other thing you want to, but I’ve been against embarking on Obama’s slippery slope to mandatory service from the moment he first let it slip on the campaign trail, to the day Michelle Obama promised Barack was “going to make me work,” to the day Rahm Emanuel said flat out that mandatory service was on the table. Yet, the bill now before the Senate, was passed quietly by the House March 18, while everybody was quibbling over AIG’s paltry retention bonuses. I don’t know about you, but anything that calls for “youth engagement zones” scares the crap out of me:
The House bill seeks to encourage middle school and high school students to engage in volunteer activities, allowing them to earn a $500 education credit to be used for college costs. It also establishes “youth engagement zones,” a new service-learning program intended to establish partnerships between community organizations and schools in high-poverty neighborhoods.
Obama’s plans to remake the auto and transportation industries under his green jobs umbrella, of course require the almost complete dismantling and takeover of the existing companies and their pay policies and practices. Any adjustment to healthcare requires fundamental, foundational change of the sort Vice President, Jo(k)e Biden spoke just days ago. These changes will be accomplished under Obama’s budget, again, not a secret. Nor are his plans to force his visionary changes through, though for now, his consideration of the use of “budget reconciliation” is being presented as a last ditch, nuclear option. Anybody who buys that, don’t know Obie too well, do he? From Bloomberg:
The administration and congressional Democrats are debating whether to use a parliamentary procedure called reconciliation to advance some of the biggest items on the president’s agenda. The move would allow Democrats to approve plans to raise taxes by $1 trillion, create a cap-and-trade system to rein in greenhouse-gas emissions, and overhaul health care without a single Republican vote.
“You’re talking about running over the minority, putting them in cement and throwing them into the Chicago River,” said Senator Judd Gregg, a New Hampshire Republican who stepped down last month as Obama’s pick for Commerce secretary. “It takes the minority completely out of the process.”
Take heart, Greggie, this is not as much about Republicans as it is about plain old thuggery. Since the “budget reconciliation” process only requires a simple majority to pass, while the Democrats have 58 in the Senate, where it counts, it seems the Obacrats are afraid of erosion of support within their ranks and want to circumvent Democrats, too. Maybe those New Democrats he tried to piggy back last week aren’t all that happy about being cast as his Unity Pony.
So, while Baracus Hubris Maximus (Hail, Caesar!) takes his Perpetual Campaign Traveling Medicine Show on the road, huddling with the masses doing 20-30 minute sets between bands, and appearing in televised lovefests, lying, and making tacky, tasteless jokes about bowling, which not only shows that he’s an insensitive lout, but a lazybones with time to bowl on his hands between cocktail parties, those what set his agenda and stage-manage his production can continue the process of dismantling democracy with public approval in peace. Whether you think the Obamessiah’s use of strong-arm tactics to achieve his fundamental, structural, systemic “change,” the degree of which we’re not yet privy to, is a good thing or bad, is said by some to be dependent upon what side of the aisle your philosophies lie. However, for me, the problem lies in having decisions made for me and shoved down my throat without the benefit of fair and due political process in the light of day. But, Barack Obama’s refusal to play by those rules is what made me dislike him in the first place; disagreement with the details of his policies aside, when it comes to justice for all, the ends don’t automatically, or even, necessarily, justify the means.
I guess the bottom line is, even if I agreed with him, I simply can’t trust him. Unlike the KoolAid swilling Obots, I’m not sure who he works for.
can i use the word triflin’ now?
[...] Underestimate Obama At Everybody’s Risk [...]
The men/women on the couch are who contribute their opinions to websites like this.
We are the ones that try to pull the curtain back and expose the a$$holes that are trying to take this country down the path to socialism.
I don’t think big o will be in power for long, he’s too inept, and his administration is too corrupt.
The 52% of the people that put him in office cannot defeat their competition (us) in the next election.
Thanks Cinie…..you got the curtain, we got your back.
Whew.
“I’m not sure he works for.
Me either. But, when I read what McC has said about this deal — I know I can trust him. I do feel I know who he works for.
ps: your new style looks stunning!
You know Cinie, when a Dem can’t recognize a Dem?
dunno. That’s a bad thing.
Stunning writing, and the way you piece it together as well.
I agree AFVET, the man behind the curtain is not Barry, he’s the man on the couch with his feet up.
AAAAHHHH!!!!!!!!!
This has to be one of your finest beatdowns. Shesus Crips and Bloods on a Latin Kings pogostick!
This whole economic crisis crap is engineered – without a doubt.
The same way the Iraq War was.
Dumb as I may be (and I am), all the conspiracy theories, from Zbignew Brzkezzzski and his ultimate goal to destroy Russia to having this super fascist state where rich rules and poor people drool, all of them make more sense to me now.
At least Dubya and PNAC stated their purpose loud and clear since 1997. Theater Wars. Middle East and Asian bases. Expand military.
Is Obama a PNAC lover? Could be.
What Bush 2.0 was to Oil, Obama is to the Finance industry. A sociopath narcissistic puppet who will do whatever it takes to make him look and live like a king, WITHOUT doing the work it takes to get there.
Just like Bush 2.0.
WAKE UP AMERICA!
Cinie, again, WONDERFUL post!!!!!!!!!
Whoa, …Far Out !!
Never trusted Bush 43, or the congress when I found out what they HAVE as OUR representatives and have voted themselves so many benefits that we, THE AMERICAN PEOPLE will never see, or cannot even hope to see because of the great expense it would suck out of the coffers of the government’s till.
Keep in mind this is just a diversion, the man behind the curtain is not BO.
What is with the nose in the air all the time? Dayum! This guy is a real piece of work.
ignorant optimism ??
optimistic ignorance ??
Hell, I don’t know,… you figure it out.
His nose is trying to run away from O’s bad breath.
Hey, sh!t just doesn’t come out of his azz alone.
It certainly would explain all that has transpired since October and why Obama was credited with keeping a “cool” head. The outcome had already been put in place so “why me worry” was not necessary.
And more than likely a year from now when the nation is more than likely on its knees, anything they want to push through will be accepted for what it is.
Pat, you’re right. Obama is not in control, and never has been.
If he was, he would be OUTRAGED !!!!
He doesn’t care about what’s happening to the country, he really doesn’t KNOW what’s happening to this country.
As long as he gets the photo-ops at the bowling ally in the White House, Jay Leno stints, Air Force 1 flights to “boost his image among the the ignorant”, Wednesday night parties at the White House, telepromter appearances at specific times as instructed by his puppeteer, he’s happy as a clam.
The cold hard fact is the rug is being pulled right out from under him and his administration.
If he thinks he can take on the American People and get away with it, he’s got another thing comin’.
Shtuey, we must learn all we can about Credit Default Swaps (CDSs) and “derivatives.” From what I gather, that’s what caused the crisis and meltdown, the economy could have handled subprime mortgages.
This is my synopsis on the action as it stood in October.
http://ohmyvalve.blogspot.com/2008/10/well-how-did-we-get-hereor-real-obama.html
This has been a long time coming. It’s going to take hard core capitalists and American patriots to stem the tide by working against the manipulation of the markets, and bringing Congress, and this administration to their knees.
It is no coincidence that the woman who helped invent the subprime mortgage vehicle, and use it to help contaminate bank systems at home and abroad, Penny Pritzker, was his campaign finance chair. But then, we’ve been yelling about this for over a year now.
People are dumber than a bag of hammers. Fortunately, it looks like more and more members of our armed forces are stepping up to say that their oath is to the Constitution and the republic, not the President.
America needs to stop paying attention to the dog and pony show, but most people are dumber than a bag of hammers. We are hard pressed.
For the people that are and have been in the US ARMED FORCES, when you raise your right hand and repeat the words, I will support and uphold the Constitution of the United States; There is never any implication
whatsoever that you pledge to support the president of the United States.
The president of the United States also takes an oath to uphold the Constitution and should do everything in his power to protect the troops to the best of his/her ability.
The president’s life is secure, the troops are on the front lines.
The least he/she can do is make sure the front line is supported.
To any currently serving military folks out there, Thanks.
I did my time years ago. Do the best you can, you’ll always remember it, hopefully fondly.
Please be wrong, just this once. But I think our are correct.
Wow, this analysis is spot on. I can only say- for the sake of America I hope you’re wrong. But I fear you are right.
AFVET, put the duct tape down…back away from the computer…deep breaths…one…two…three…feel better now?
Betcha don’t, cuz if you did what I said, you’re on the other side of the room, now!
OK….. but I can’t see the screen from here.
Another excellent piece!
Grazie!
Cinie, you are so right on in your observations. (I’m a big fan of yours, BTW.)
I made similar comments a couple of weeks or so ago when talking to a friend about the financial situation. If Obama and his administration really intended to try to “fix” the economy (in a manner most of us would interpret as “fixing” it), then the Treasury Dept would not be a ghost town right now. It would be “job one” to get that thing fully staffed and to crack the friggin’ whip on them.
I never bought into Bush’s “War on Terror” for similar reasons. There are many examples, but I remember when the Dubai Ports story came to light in 2006. We discovered that, after over 4 years of histrionics about “terror”, that only 5% of containers entering the US were even being screened. And 6 major ports’ security was going to be handed over to a company based in the United Arab Emirates! Not the actions of a country that is serious about “terror”.
In my opinion, Bush/Terror and Obama/Economic Crisis are two phases of the same operation. Watch the actions, don’t listen to the words. And don’t let yourself get distracted by the puny orchestrated outrage of the day.
KC, can you say, “generated crisis?” I can, and do. And thank you.
Cinie, I saw this “crisis” happening in earnest starting in 2006.
The speed at which it is happening is frightful.
BTW, I have been seeing pieces on the web about ACORN getting involved in the census taking. Any truth to that rumor ??
Above article is right on target, as usual.
Here’s the right view of the ACORN/census thing…

Cinie, thks for the links.
We will have to see what happens.
I am right now wrapping my head with duct tape.
After reading the links you provided, and the comments to the articles that were published, my head is going to explode.
I’m going to be positive here, because I know that common sense will prevail here pretty soon………hopefully….soon…..
