Illinois sent two black people to the Senate; if any state can give Reid the illusion of inclusion, it’s the Land of Lincoln. Obviously, it wasn’t a black thing, it was which team they were willing to pay to play on, Blago’s or Reid/Obama’s. They picked Blago, they had to go. This is the national Democratic party pledging allegiance to politics, Chicago, Illinois Combine-style.

Could it be that The Anointed One’s staff came to the conclusion that Blago’s selection was the best way to maneuver through this fork in the road?? Sir David and Richard II were not going to allow a special election – under any circumstance. The risk of Blago’s selection, which in all probability was either “fixed” with the Gov – or quite easy to determine, was worth the bad publicity. Mr. Burris will be the only African American in the senate. He will be seated. He probably won’t run in 2010, but it can be assumed that another African American will win the Democratic nomination for senator.

On January 20, 2009, The Anointed One will take office, and this mess will simply fade away. Once again liberty has been diminished by the folks who say they best represent the people.,
